Chaplaincy Training
Basic chaplaincy training consists of several courses, many of which can be taken online, however it is traditional to take these courses in a traditional classroom setting. In many cases, the courses are reasonable in price, including books and other materials.
Chaplaincy training usually consists of learning how to help others cope with depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, suicide, worker burnout, grief or loss, and more. You may also train to assist with crisis and even with group crisis intervention. Many chaplains also train to become licensed to perform weddings and funerals. Depending on what training course you take, this may be part of the regular chaplaincy training, or as an extra addition to the courseload.
Upon completion of the chaplaincy training program, chaplains will need to get licensing to perform weddings and funerals. The process may vary from state to state, so it’s important to contact your local government office or visit their website for more information.
Many people look to chaplains during the good and the bad times in their life for spiritual guidance. By completing a chaplaincy training program, you will be able to help people through all sorts of life experiences.
