Christian Coaching
Christian coaching can also be found in a number of counseling offices across the country. Many of these are also considered Christian psychotherapy offices. They usually offer a variety of services, helping individuals and families deal with any of the following:

Death and grieving
Career counseling
Women’s issues
Depression
Sexual abuse or addiction
Christian coaching can be done in group therapy or on a 1:1 basis, depending on what is preferred by the person seeking the help. Sometimes people find solace in group therapy, knowing their not alone. The coaches or counselors use the Bible and the fundamentals of Christian faith to help those in need solve their problems. This type of work, however, doesn’t just come naturally all of the time, in fact, many of the coaches or counselors take years of training before working with patients.
As a student of counseling or psychology, there may be an opportunity to minor or specialize in Christian counseling. This mostly occurs during a graduate degree program, so you may need a bachelor’s degree in psychology, or even biblical studies. Most Christian universities offer some form of Christian or pastoral counseling degree through their masters degree programs, and it’s an ideal degree for future priests or ministers to focus on that type of study, especially if they’re looking to have a great deal of interaction with their parish.
